2023-2024 POLICIES

ARRIVAL TIME

Arrival time for all classes is 10 minutes before classes start. Please DO NOT send your dancer in any earlier. Interruptions are distracting, especially for younger students. The instructor will open the door when class ends.

LOCATION

Our classes are held at 1604 Highway 151, Pageland, SC 29728. Please be considerate of other individuals when dropping off your dancer.

PICKING UP CHILDREN

Please let us know who is picking up your child. Be prompt! If an emergency arises and you are running late, please text Shannon at 580-481-4715 and let me know so that your child does not worry.

CLASS ETIQUETTE

SNACKS- Candy, food, and gum are not allowed during class time. Please make sure that all snacks and gum are finished and discarded prior to entering the studio. Dancers may have water in their bags. No sodas or colored juices.

HAIR– Hair must be pulled up during all classes unless your teacher gives students and parents permission to wear it another way.

SHOE REQUIREMENTS FOR CLASS – I suggest that any new shoes are bought prior to Christmas break so that the dancers have an opportunity to wear the shoes prior to performing in them. If you have any questions, please see Shannon Haigler.

JAZZ – tan jazz shoes

TAP – tan tap shoes

BALLET – pink ballet shoes

CONTEMPORARY – tan jazz shoes

HIP HOP – black low-top Converse shoes (tennis shoes or jazz shoes may be worn to start class)

VISITORS

No visitors are permitted during class time! Also, your child is not allowed to bring friends to observe class. We cannot be liable for children not enrolled in class.

Having a “no visitors” policy reduces distractions, thus giving us the full attention of our students. Parents will have several opportunities to observe class. We will notify you as to when we will be allowing visitors.

If you have a special visitor that would like to observe your child in class (for example, Grandma and Grandpa are visiting), simply notify me in advance to request permission to observe, so that I can prepare the students for visitors.

COSTUMES

Costumes for the recital will be ordered in November. One costume is ordered for each class. At the beginning of October, your child’s costume deposit ($50) will be due. Students will be measured in October and the order will be placed in November. Balances are unknown until costumes are ordered. Please budget approximately $100 for your child’s costume however it may be more or may be less depending on the costume. One pair of tights will be included with each costume. If you would like additional tights, please let Shannon know in December. Shoes are not included in the cost of costumes. You will receive your balance due in November, and it will be due prior to Christmas break.

DANCE EXPLOSION RECITAL

Our recital marks the culmination of our dance year. I plan for the recital to be held in May; however, this could change. I will let parents know as soon as we secure the venue. We will have a dress rehearsal prior to our recital. Please continue to check our website for additional information.

A $40 recital fee is due in March for all dancers participating in the May recital. This fee helps to pay for recital costs such as: venue, helpers, awards, and backdrop.

REMEMBER TO CHECK THE WEBSITE www.danceexplosionpageland.com PERIODICALLY AS THAT WILL BE YOUR BEST PLACE TO FIND ANY AND ALL INFORMATION.
